Registration of Foreigners visiting the Ramfjordmoen
site
In accordance with Norwegian law, all foreigners
staying in Norway are obliged to register with the aliens
registration office (foreign police).
Visitors from Scandinavian countries can freely visit Norway
as tourists. If they are going to work (even in connection
with research) they are obliged to register with the foreign
police in person, within 7 days. Scandinavians do not require
a work permit.
Foreigners from outside Scandinavia who are staying at the
site are obliged to fill in "MELDESKJEMA FOR UTLENDINGER"
(aliens registration form) and send it to the local foreign
police office.
Visiting scientists from outside Scandinavia who visit the
site and are going to work (at the site) are obliged to
register with the foreign police office, within 7 days, in
person. These visitors also require a work and residence
permit. This permit should be applied for from the visitors
native country through the Norwegian foreign office in
his/her respective country.
Visiting scientists and special technicians (experts) who are
visiting the site for a period up to three months are
exempted from the requirement for a work permit but are still
obliged to register with the foreign police, in person.
Visitors who are not going to do any kind of work can stay in
Norway for up to 3 months as tourists.
All visitors are required to have a valid passport.
To comply with the legal requirements and at the same time
facilitate our own work and make the stay at the Ramfjordmoen
site as uncomplicated as possible, we have, in coordination
with the local foreign police, arranged that these requirements
can be handled locally at the site.
