The Council

The EISCAT Council is the governing body of EISCAT Scientific Association and has an overall responsibility for the activities of the Association. The Council and the Association is governed by a set of rules included in the EISCAT BlueBook.

The Council consists of a Delegation of each Associate with a maximum of three persons from each Associate. A Delegation consists of a Delegate and Representatives.

Chairperson and deputy for the period 2019-2020: Prof. Mann (chair) and Prof. Aikio (deputy).

The EISCAT Council met last time in sessions in April and June 2020 via video. The short report from the meeting is available here. Council approved the Annual Financial Report 2019 during the meeting. Next meeting of Council will be held 24 – 25 November 2020, tentatively in Finland.
